Signs put up to warn against people from wearing loose items such as caps,slippers at carnivals are there for a reason and i can vouch for that…i spent last weekend with my lady in Tebrau City, Johor where there was a carnival going on…we had fun at the bumper cars, up the romantic ferris wheel for a good shot of the place,this 360 fast-spinning bucket chair kind of thing and finally the whopper of a ride called Challenger…that will for surely rip my b***s out but i was cool…cant show my nerves to my gerl…here it goes…in my seat…ahh,it aint shit…im cool…arggghhhh!….mommy!!!!….my b***s,dont run run away!!!…argggggh…my New Eras,dont run away!!!….argggghhh…friggin ride…

It was cool…no shit i cant take;p

Went into the mall, got some Yoshinoya udon, scoured the malls for some bargains…al-ikhsan was lookin good but did not hold any interest at that point…la senza had some nice lingerie but malady was skeptical about the products there…oh yes…got myself a Napolean Dynamite figurine that costs 10 dollars…amazing find…and went off happy.wheee….

Went to movies, i did, and caught a couple of shows. first up transamerica.felicity huffman portrayal of a transexual is very convincing and the show itself is not too dreary in its storyline or too draggy (unlike the other overhyped gay/cross-gender based movie of this year). very light-hearted and dialogue is engaging.thought and research can be seen in her acting and the relationship between father/mother-to-be and son is hysterical but the Oedipal references were quite disturbing if you thought real hard about it.(7.5/10)

next,v for vendetta. Very entertaining show which pulls out all the stops to please the crowd. as it was loosely based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel,the emphasis should be on the word "loosely". a lot was left to be desired if pre-judgement was based on the knowledge of reading the novel. It did not really make any justification for the literary masterpiece (ive read it twice) but as i say again, capitalist priorities are the major factor here.kudos to Natalie Portman’s acting and for still looking so sweet with a bald look.kinda sexy too.and hugo weaving for giving a brilliant voiceover to V. (7.5/10) 

Something horrific happened today…fashion wise that is…i may not be the slickest cat in town but i do know when someone needs a major wardrobe change…

1.  3 guys with the same blonde gelled up hairdo, kicks and (gasp) same adidas jackets but in different colorways(light blue,orange and navy blue).what were they thinking? okay,it may be dope-looking on Wu Tang Clan but i guess it doesnt really cut it here…

2.   this is even worst…while i was happily going up the escalator at City Hall,i was stopped in my tracks by a young chap standing in the middle…not in a hurry,i didnt bother to barge my way through like i always do…so i wait and stared blankly ahead until i notice the chap’s pants…it was a mesh type of basketball jersey material pants that could be seen through…(urgh!)…and he had chicken legs for that matter(argh)…and no leg hair!(help me!)…and thongs! (KNNbccb)…that is a sin in every context, i say…absolutely horrendous.

So me and fizzie went to Suhanah’s (a classmate of our’s back in college) wedding last weekend together and turned out to be real nice. Did not catch the actual hoo-ha but we managed to meet the couple for a few minutes as we had arrived late due to my work commitments. Since we had a couple of hours in hand to wait for Sue, the two of us yakked about topics ranging from "When is it your turn?" to "My mom hates that dumbass" to "Horse-y!, Horse-y!". We had fun. For me, I guess.

Much have gone by and im glad to say that the week went by with a few interesting incidents. let me tell chronologically starting with last Saturday.

25/2/06

Went out early in the morning to meet up with zhak at geylang serai to catch a glimpse of a busy market weekend. This place holds a lot memories as these were the only times i went out with my mom on a weekly basis when i was a lil young’un…with much going on when i was a kid,spent some quality time with my mom then…i still do till this day to try and go to the market with my mom…yes,yes,i can be a momma’s boy but filial piety is a good trait to have and not one to be ashamed about…so we went about taking photos and i was quite guilty to see zhak lugging around a huge bag (more on that later) so we went back to my place to grab my stuff for the flea market we had in the afternoon. And old nenek (granny) went down the elevator with us and she was curious why a couple of young cats like us were doin at an old flat like that and i explained that we wanted to reminesce…i bade her farewell and fizzie was curious who i bade farewell to when i was on the phone with her…the photos will be up later.

We reached Cineleisure and zhak’s bag snapped at the handle (read his blog for more details…http://waiting-room.blogspot.com/2006/03/omg-selloutz.html)…sold off 5 tees and 1 cd…and i sold off a tee that sikin liked…why cant ladies tell their significant others directly about things they like or dont like? sometimes we may argue about this but in the end, we’d be diplomatic and yes, the men will have to succumb to chivalry and manja (pamper) the fairer sex (i love doin that tho);p…made quite a small margin of profit and indefintely, made space in my room and wardrobe. quite disappointed that couldnt sell my toys at all but maybe its the location.

One key note to couples out there,never leave your recorded videos on your handphones. There’s a high possibility that you might lose your handphone and you might become the next local Paris Hilton. i dont know if your ratings my soar like Paris but im sure as hell, you gonna get a lot of coverage…watched some videos of young local couples going at it from a source (i wont say where tho becos ive deleted it too,hehe) and im trying to figure it out. Siglap secondary, sats personnel,married individuals,geli lah!,etc…those are some things connected with those videos. funny that this topic has become a bone of contention in society as we live in a very sexual stimulant environment…hey,its all up to choice.

Me and zhak went for the Fort Minor concert and we had quite a bit of fun. we dont really fancy them that much but it held quite a certain interest in our hip-hop influence as technically, they are the first hip-hop band to perform in a full-fledged concert. saw May and Choy there and they were cute with their sychronized dance routines but ran away upon seeing this trio of guys gesticulating and cavorting together in a very questionable and distasteful manner. hey, they (the trio) turned me off too. we trudged off after the concert and made a couple of silly clips with me interviewing zhak about the show.

Apparently, when half your life is littered with different nice adjectives, it comes as quite a shocker or more of a blip of form when you receive bad flak. Fortunately, having quite an experience of learning to accept criticisms as part of understanding oneself, I’ve managed to laugh it off as something trivial (even though, the adjective may have been accidental but it still came out as it is).

If you are wondering what that word is, i forgot about it already…heh…

Its beeen a long while since my last post.Needed the time to adjust to my work environment and personal engagements. I’m sad to say, the world is currently debating the issue of insensitive caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. This has to do with my religion and i guess, putting this on top of my agenda, I am disgusted at the insensivity shown by the European media and their stubborness of wanting media freedom of speech. Yes, the media should have the platform of expressing an apolitical stance backed by the powers of democracy against the social norms of bureaucracy BUT it must be doubled up with discretion of sensitivity towards any subject/person/group. In this case, i presume that the Danish newspaper had the pre-conceived knowledge that Muslims consider any drawings of the Prophet Muhammad as blasphemy and with that knowledge, the discretion was compromised for blatant sensationalization.

Not to say the least, the radical Muslims are no saints either. Violent demonstrations and vehement fury towards European counterparts. These do not fairly reflect the most of supposedly "moderate" Muslims around the world (if there is ever such a term as moderate Muslim, i prefer intectually rational Muslims). These acts just compund the stereotyped overview of Muslims as hardliners of violence and we go around the world conducting riots and jumping atop the roofs and firing our hidden Kalashnikovs into the air (that may not sound right but ya know what i mean).

Personally, i’ve seen the caricatures in an e-mail. I found it stupid and whoever came up with the phrase,"Ignorance is bliss", is a dumbass too. These "artists" need the classic case of a "foot stuck in his ass" moment. But amid all that, it doesn’t, in any way, make me wanna jump on the Danish or European guy and rip out his tongue and shove it in his ass. No, because everyone is bornt in him or her a certain logic which decides that we can solve an issue like this amicably.Or so i hope it is. It’s just wishful thinking, i know, to have everyone to be more understanding and compromising, but in the end, just being a bit more sensitive does help a long way too.

On other matters, I’m colliding headlong into a fit i induced myself. I worry a lot. I mean, a lot of alot. I may not show it in front of people but i freak out at the slightest of change. Blame it on my insecurities. Sikin, hunny, i think she can testify it the most. But i love her so much(You go gerl!). My friends are getting married,i still yet to have a degree, my nails are getting long and i just scratched myself and Scwahrzenegger becomin president…I’m happy to announce that i still have at least a home and family and friends(bless yall).

Got myself a New Era cap too.Like i said in my last post. A crossover, no less with Osiris. Couldnt get a pic of it up tho. Sorry about dat.Maybe, you can catch me wearin it one day. If ya lucky;p

And i went for my company’s D&D as Eric Draven aka The Crow. And a colleague went as Masked Rider Faiz (Kay, dont flip yo).That was fun, yeah, but im still sore that i lost out on a Nano to someone who came as Clark Kent.Talk about meritocracy, my ass!

At long last,the eldest cousin and the first of the O.Mahat grandchildren got married on Sunday. MInd you,to get the thing movin,much deliberation took place behind the scenes before everythin went smoothly. Blood,sweat and tears (im not kiddin for all three) were put thru to make this wedding a success but it was well worth it.your dear author finally got a promotion too. head supervisor for the waiters (my other four cousins) and the pengiring (the guide for the arriving celebrated couple). no more dishwasher for the day!

after much toiling and fatigue overcoming everybody, me and my uncle Busu sat down by the stairs reminiscing what had happened and agreed that helping out a family member will always be heart-fulfilling and a joyous occasion.

i sound like a hallmark advertisement.shit.

Lebaran has passed and the celebrations seem to take a turn for the normalcy of quiet. I love it that way. not dat im anti-social or anythin but i prefer less of a brou-ha-ha on matters. by the way,aidilfitri is a solemn affair in the first place as a time of reflection and forgiveness. too many people get caught up with the necessity of extravagance(not sparing me too but i try to keep it controlled nevertheless).

Had a run in with moral dilemma a couple days back. as a kid,i was brought up to tell the truth as far as possible and be good to others. i have not forsaken those principles in my mind but what happen when an old lady at my work place accidentally pulls a plug which links to a computer dat holds important files (and it is still running by the way) and the rest of the office is questioning around whodunnit and i’m the only one who knows? come on,i respect the elders and she’s a nice auntie who cleans up the place and makes coffee for people and she does not speak a word of english at all.

what did i do? i kept quiet.

i was doin this IQ test(sadly,the link does not show my score though) recently and posted an unofficial score of 115 which i think should be a good score according to my memory(not that my memory really functions well) but i was equally bemused as to why i was graded a genius mathematically and verbally and below average for logical definition.Oh well…that’s explains why i talk a lot of s**t to people.

by the way,i did this test while im at work but dont be slagging me off about canoodling on the job. i am canoodling becos i had my work done and im really bored at my desk. i foresee this happening a lot in the future too.

and it really kicks ass when there’s a fullsize mirror in your office toilet.at least dat takes a lot of time ogling at yourself and i dont mean that in a narsiccistic(i dont know if i got the spelling correct,i keep getting his name wrong) way but it helps knowing i got somethin to do in the toilet other than clearing my bowels and checking my teeth.
