Its time to bring SexyBack!

Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

Hey,

First and foremost, I would like to thank Allah for letting me live for another year Alhamdulillah and blessing me, my family and my friends with good times and health and keeping me safe from all ill that lurks around. I am truly grateful for the life I have and hope to see more of it in the years to come InsyAllah.

With that poignant piece, I will embark, in the next few weeks, on a retrospective of places or memories I’ve had in this life of mine. I hope yall will appreciate what I will be posting in the next few weeks.

Spent yesterday or September 23rd with malady and we met at Marina Square for lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed eating udon and Kampong Satay sandwich at Too Hot Cafe near the Esplanade. There were a few people around and the quiet helped the ambience pretty much.

And off to Sentosa for some thrilling stuff we’d been wanting to try - the Sentosa Luge. Personally, I was a bit skeptical of the "exciting" stuff that SIngapore has to offer due to the overwhelming disappointed responses that come with it. I was expecting something of a 50 cent kiddy ride but surprisingly, it caught me out of the blue with the tremendous speed it can hit when you are going as fast as I was at one point. I nearly overturned, mind you, when hitting one of the chicanes. I felt like Schumi…minus the crimson blood frame and high tech F1 engine…but my helmet was red so maybe there was a hint of it. A ride was $8 including a lift on the Sky Ride after that. That itself is quite scary at one point as you have feet dangling 200 feet in the air and the seat reminded me of the swing chair that my Kampong relative(dunno which one) had in Johor and as a matter of fact, that thing fell apart. That didnt help for self-confidence obviously. But what I lack in myself, I made it up being a MAN in front of Sikin and I had to suck it up on the Sky Ride … That was until I started screaming like a little girl and gripped on the handlebars as if they were Man’s Real Best Friends (up to every man’s own discretion what that is);p

I was actually having muscular spasm attack here at 200 feet high thus the clenched teeth and constipated smile.

And finally, the SexyBack of it all was the gift that Sikin got me! It was a "sick" Lacoste polo tee that I’d been eyeing for quite a while but never got close to buying it. And it was a slim-cut in SIze 2 and it would definitely bring out the sexiness in me.Now get the SexyBack!

Hey hey…

Went to womad last weekend with Zhak (he has more photos of it) to catch Jimmy Cliff and proved to be an entertaining night out. Contrary to some newspaper reports I read which emphasize people’s quite irrational response to the ticket pricing, food and quality of the show, I found it very well-run, organized and a fully enjoyable and diverse line-up of performances. Even though a friend of mine said Radio Mundial were really good, sadly, they weren’t performing that night. Considering the fact that we paid only $35 for a festival and the administration-hell that the organizers went through, we are lucky as my initial research of going to the Sonic Festival in Japan would set me back $185 for a ticket alone (But they have better acts in the first place so I wouldnt consider it pricey too). It’s just Singaporeans being Singaporeans…squeeze any and every amount we can get from something. Location-wise, Fort Canning is a really good place to hold such a kind of thing and it’s a great place to skate or BMX too…While relaxing on the grass with Zhak (no references to any trashy novels), I pondered that Fort Canning is a really freaky place to be without the extra 8000 bodies walking around. The trees, the underground tunnels, the forts, cannons and all the other stuff adds up to its eerieness. Thank goodness for the festival.

Some of the photos I took with my phone.

And why did the New Paper print this? Anything wrong with the picture? It’s Charlton forward Darren Bent with a bottle of water in his right hand, that’s what! Perverts!

Keep ya Hats on!
